Sustainability Workshops for Schools

At Lab Rascals, we believe that engaging students in science today helps them understand and protect the world they will inherit tomorrow. Our sustainability workshops for schools are designed to bring real-world environmental challenges to life through hands-on activities, fostering curiosity, and building knowledge about the science behind climate and renewable energy.

Lego Wind Energy Workshop

In this workshop, pupils explore the basics of renewable energy by constructing and testing their own wind turbines. Using LEGO to build model turbines, they’ll learn how harnessing wind power generates electricity. To demonstrate renewable energy in action, each turbine charges a battery that powers a LEGO car, giving pupils a real-time view of sustainable energy at work! This workshop combines creativity, problem-solving, and an introduction to green technology in an exciting, hands-on way.

Greenhouse Gases & Climate Change Workshop

Climate change can feel abstract, but our Greenhouse Gases & Climate Change workshop helps pupils visualise and understand it through interactive science. Pupils will model six major greenhouse gases and explore their effects on our planet. With molecular modelling and dry ice experiments, they’ll see firsthand how these gases interact and influence global temperatures. This workshop provides foundational knowledge on one of today’s most pressing topics, sparking important discussions on climate action.

Our Changing Earth – Planetarium Show

Our planetarium show,  takes pupils on an immersive journey to explore the effects of climate change across different regions of Earth. Using stunning visuals, this show illustrates how rising temperatures, shifting ecosystems, and natural events impact our world. This show brings a planetary perspective to sustainability and climate, helping pupils see how interconnected our actions are with the health of the Earth. This experience is perfect for visual learners and can serve as a powerful introduction or follow-up to our hands-on workshops.
