Lab Rascals is a micro business led by Founder and Director Katie, who has a strong passion for sharing her love of science with the younger generation. As a qualified chemist with over 12 years of experience, Katie has created and delivered numerous hands-on science workshops that are suitable for all abilities. She believes in the importance of interactive learning and has designed her workshops accordingly. Katie's expertise in workshop development is often sought after by educators and industry leaders, and one of her workshops has even earned the renewable industry's award of excellence. Additionally, she has received the disability confidence award and collaborates with SEND charities to ensure that her workshops are accessible and inspiring for everyone.

Katie's assistant Racheal is a highly skilled and qualified geologist with considerable experience in the industry. After moving to the UK, Racheal redirected her attention to the education sector, delivering geology enrichment programs to nearby schools, after-school clubs, and Sunday schools.

OUR OBJECTIVES AND STANDARDS

We aim to inspire and engage young children in science and engineering through fun, hands-on experimentation. Our goal is to change the negative perception of science as being all "flashes and bangs" that most children associate with danger. Additionally, we hope to encourage children to pursue careers in science and engineering, which are vital for the future growth of the UK economy.

Our standards are rigorous. We thoroughly test and evaluate all of our workshops to ensure the highest level of quality. Our lead staff hold degrees in science-based subjects, and we are passionate about inspiring and educating children. As positive scientific role models, we strive to make a positive impact on the next generation.
